How To Build A Monopoly In Your Niche
this is the easiest way to eliminate the competition
There's a handful of creators who have such elite personal brand, they’ve essentially unlocked monopoly-status in their niche.
Tell someone you want to work on your habits, they’ll tell you about James Clear. Tell someone you need to be more productive, they’ll tell you about Ali Abdaal.
Tell anyone you're in the trenches with a toddler, and someone is sending you to Dr. Becky.

Dr. Becky is a Harvard-trained clinical psychologist turned parenting creator.
She runs the parenting app called Good Inside, has a chart-topping podcast, and a #1 NYT bestselling book.
On Instagram alone, she's at 3.5M followers, and her latest ~100 reels we analyzed pulled 60M combined views over the last 12 months…
Anyone who wants to be a better parent knows Dr. Becky.
But what’s interesting is that the data says almost none of that reach is because she gives the best parenting advice.
The truth is, there are thousands of accounts telling you how to make it past the terrible 2’s and handle a tantrum.
Parenting advice is somewhat of a commodity.
Dr. Becky is running a completely different content strategy, and it's the reason she became the household name while thousands of other parenting creators have remained anonymous.
Here's what the data says about how you build a monopoly in your niche…
How Dr. Becky Became The Go-To Name In Her Niche (Without Making Boring Content)
Dr. Becky spent years on exactly one promise: helping you become a better parent.
But her content is anything but boring.
One week she's breaking down an Oscars speech, the next it’s Sam Altman talking about AI, somehow she’s tied both of those things to parenting psychology.
The niche stays fixed, but the material never repeats. Her topics, formats, and hooks are all built to pull the entire culture into her one lane…parenting.
Here’s what I found when I ran her account through Sandcastles using the MCP.
Her topics turn the whole internet into parenting content
Her best bucket has nothing to do with parenting on the surface. She’s using Borrowed Authority & Pop Culture Reaction to bring names like Viola Davis, Amy Poehler & Alecia Keys, Charlie Puth, and an Olympic figure skater into the parenting world.
Here’s the breakdown (pulled via the MCP)

You’ll notice that shockingly, the content around boundaries, parent guilt, potty training, and puberty all underperform on the account of the world's most famous parenting advisor.
Parenting advice is a mimic-able commodity, and wildly oversaturated. So Dr. Becky’s interpretation is her moat.
She collides two things that don’t normally go together (culture x parenting, mindset x parenting, technology x parenting), to create novel takes.
Unsurprisingly, her formats and hooks are protected by this moat, too.
Her best formats are built on her own authority or someone else’s.
She’s either reacting to a big name via greenscreen, or doing a polished talking head video that positions her as the expert.
Her worst videos are “yap videos” which most people would tell you are blowing up right now, but if she just did what everyone else was doing, she wouldn’t be the best in the niche…

Her hooks function on the same foundation.

Point being: a Harvard-trained clinical psychologist with 3.5M followers performs better borrowing credibility than asserting it.
A couple of my favorite outliers in her last 12 months of content:

Psychologist reacts to Jessie Buckley’s Oscar’s Speech – 14.8X Outlier, 2.4M Views
Psychologist reacts to Alysa Liu: “I love struggling” – 12.4X Outlier, 2.4M Views
What does resilience feel like? – 12.1X Outlier, 2.9M Views
One last interesting insight: On most accounts the general idea is to keep your video at the 30-90 second mark. Short attention spans and all that.
Dr.Becky’s top performers don’t abide by that rule…

You’d never find that insight without looking really closely at the data, so let me show you how I found it…
How To Use This Report To Become The Only Name Worth Watching In Your Niche
These screenshots I’ve pulled above are all part of a much deeper report generated by the Sandcastles MCP of non-obvious patterns you could never spot by scrolling her feed.
You could watch all ~100 reels back to back and never notice that her reaction frames perform almost 5x as well as talking heads, or that reels over 2 minutes beat everything under 45 seconds.
The patterns live in the aggregate data, not standalone video views (which is why we built Sandcastles).
Here's how to run this workflow to deep analyze any competitor account so you can build a monopoly in your niche.
Step 01 — Bulk analyze in Sandcastles
In the web app, select the creator's channel, filter above 2% engagement to filter out brand deals and narrow the search to the last 12 months. Then, bulk analyze their last 100 videos.

The analysis has to be done in Sandcastles first so the MCP can pull from this data faster. If you have the MCP hooked up, you could also just ask Claude to do this
Step 02 — Prompt Claude
Make sure the Sandcastles MCP is connected in Claude (takes 60 seconds), then give it a prompt like:
Pull in the last 100 videos posted in the last 12 months from the XYZ Channel. They should all be deep analyzed already. If any aren’t deep analyze them. I want you to build a super visual report, breaking down the best performing:
• Topic buckets
• Hooks
• Formats
• Scriptwriting tactics
•Non-obvious patterns
Give me the full breakdown of the 100 analyzed videos, and use the insights to help me best understand how to improve my next batch of videos. Build in dynamic HTML.
The key phrase is "dynamic HTML" because that's what produces the visual, chart-heavy report you're seeing in the screenshots. It one-shots the charts, the stat cards, the topic and hook rankings, all of it.
For Dr. Becky’s channel, it even generated an interactive hook lab breaking down her most recent posts where I could toggle between 5 hook templates to see what worked best.
Looked like this:

Step 03 — Have a conversation with the data
The initial report is the starting point but if you keep asking follow-ups, you’re able to have a fully nuanced conversation with real data that can tell you exactly what worked in the content. I’ll ask stuff like:
Why is this person growing so fast?
What am I missing in my videos compared to theirs?
What are they doing that I'm not seeing?
What are non-obvious insights could I be missing?
Can you compare my best videos to theirs?
It’s literally endless once you have the base data from Sandcastles into Claude.
In the end, for Dr. Becky’s channel, we ended up here:

That back-and-forth feels like having an advanced social media strategist accessible 24/7. If you like my content, this is the closest thing to getting my content brain on tap, pointed at any channel or set of videos you give it.
To run reports like these, you'll need the Sandcastles MCP installed and bulk-analyzed videos. You can sign up here to get started and follow these instructions to install the MCP
